Diana Barratt, MD, MPH, FAAN

Dr. Diana Barratt is board-certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. She has received national awards from the American Academy of Neurology, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and the Association of American Medical College’s MedEdPORTAL. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Florida; she earned a Master’s in Public Health degree from Harvard.

Her research experience includes the following:  designing, conducting, and publishing basic science and clinical research; participating as a sub-investigator in clinical trials on stroke and neurodegenerative conditions; receiving independent funding from the American Academy of Neurology and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She serves as a peer-reviewer for Neurology, the most widely read and highly cited peer-reviewed neurology journal. A lifelong learner, she regularly attends conferences and continuously searches the medical literature for cutting-edge treatments and clinical trials to offer her patients.

Patient care requires expertise, time, and attention to detail. Dr. Barratt has created a practice in which she can apply a thoughtful, individualized approach to each patient in an unhurried environment. For those with multiple medical and neurological conditions, she enumerates problems, sets goals, and coordinates care. She provides second opinions and manages patients with both common and rare diagnoses. While many systems provide a brinksmanship approach to healthcare, Dr. Barratt anticipates the needs of each patient and employs preventive measures whenever possible.

Prior to scheduling the first appointment, Dr. Barratt speaks with each patient. In advance of the visit, she reviews medical records and views imaging. Because she maintains a small patient panel, she is able to maintain regular communication with her patients. She personally responds to phone calls or messages within 24 hours.

If you become a patient of Dr. Barratt, you will join a select group receiving personalized, attentive care in neurology and sleep medicine. Because it is a direct pay practice, you will pay for each visit at the time of the appointment. This approach is similar to a concierge practice, offering extended visit times, personalized care, frequent communication, and direct access to Dr. Barratt. However, instead of requiring a membership fee, patients simply pay for each visit at the time of service. Patients are provided with detailed billing information upon request; they may submit claims to their insurance companies. Additionally, many patients use their Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards to cover the cost of their visits.
